Rising Stars Seed Grant
APPLICANT’S INFORMATION PACK
To encourage the development of intensive care research in the Asia Pacific region, the Society of Intensive Care Medicine (Singapore) (SICM) and The Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) are pleased to announce the inaugural Asia Pacific Intensive Care Symposium (APICS) Rising Stars Seed Grant (RSSG) in 2024. The grant award offers up 5,000 SGD.
The grant application is open to members of Asia Pacific Intensive Care Societies which are in Low, Lower Middle, and Upper Middle Income Economies as defined by the World Bank.1
Applicants need to be 42 years and below and have a specialist mentor who is able to guide the project to completion.
The study must be completed within a 1-year period with an interim update at 6 months to the SICM ANZICS RSSG Review Panel.
Grant holders will be expected to present their project progress and findings at the following year’s APICS.

1. Purpose and Sponsorship:
- To foster intensive care research development in the Asia Pacific region.
- Sponsored by the Society of Intensive Care Medicine (Singapore) (SICM) and The
Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS).
2. Grant Details:
- Launch Year: 2024
- Grant Amount: Up to 5,000 SGD.
3. Eligibility:
- Open to members of Asia Pacific Intensive Care Societies from Low, Lower Middle,
and Upper Middle-Income Economies (World Bank criteria).
- Applicants must be 42 years or younger.
- Applicants must have a specialist mentor for project guidance.
4. Project Duration and Reporting:
- The project must be completed within 1 year.
- An interim update is required at 6 months to the SICM ANZICS RSSG Review Panel.
5. Presentation of Findings:
- Grant holders are expected to present their project progress and findings at the
next year’s Asia Pacific Intensive Care Symposium (APICS).
